Don’t Forget Wee Deliver Thursday!

“Wee Deliver” mail delivery is this Thursday. Wee Deliver is a program where students write, address and mail letters, cards, drawings or photos to other Hollywood students, teachers and staff. Parents can also participate by dropping of letters while visiting school, or sending with another student. The kids love to get mail from friends and family!

For details, including class addresses, see the Hollywood PTA site (hollywoodpta.org). Questions? Contact Kierith Kurth (kierithfk@yahoo.com).

Art to Remember Due 3/12

You have an opportunity to turn your child’s art work into keepsakes. Each student brought home a folder with magic paper in it to create. Please return these creations and folders by March 12th. What media? Crayons, markers, colored pencils, oil pastels work well. Stay away from collage, paint and trade-marked images The machine does not like these media. Proceeds will help the PTA meet its goals of supporting field trips and arts programs for all students. If you have any questions contact Jennifer Leimberer leimberer@comcast.net or Kelly Krupske kellystover2000@yahoo.com.

Cultural Arts committee planning and dreaming for 2010-11

Meeting time is precious and we are all busy. So, the Cultural Arts committee will begin to have a virtual meeting through email to start brainstorming and planning for next year. A face-to-face meeting will occur in April but the virtual meeting will hopefully get things started. If you would like to join this conversation, please contact Jennifer Perry at eowynlives@comcast.net.

Calling all parent actors, musicians, and creative types

We need your talents to form an ad hoc Hollywood Writer’s Theater troop. The troop is charged with creatively presenting two student produced Young Author Books, one from K-2 and one from 3-5. This presentation will be part of the Celebration of Writing on April 16th at 10am. The troops first meeting will be on Sunday, March 21 at 3pm at the Leimberer’s house. Feel free to bring your children. At this meeting the troop will brainstorm and decide on how to present or dramatize each book. The troop will spend some time preparing and recruiting and then have a rehearsal during the week prior to the celebration. This should be fun! Have stage fright? Make arrangements to attend the celebration! If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Leimberer at leimberer@comcast.net or 442-6950.
