Fun New Indoor Recess! Can You Help?

Welcome back to school! Welcome back to recess!

Kids should be outside for recess. But sometimes the weather does not cooperate. . . so we have been working hard to come up with some great options. The Indoor Recess committee is looking for parents who are available on fairly short notice to help with indoor recess if the weather is not cooperative in the next few weeks. Time?  11:30 to 12:30. What will you do?  Help kids learn the rules to games, learn the new indoor recess routines, etc. The biggest challenge?  You will be called that day. So, if you are available to PLAY at recess, please contact Jennifer Leimberer at leimberer@comcast.net or 708-442-6950.

Thanks! It will be fun!

Hollywood Traffic / Parking Procedures

Hollywood School has teamed up with Brookfield Police to make a few changes to our pick-up and drop-off for the upcoming year. As you prepare for the first half-day of school on Tuesday, August 25th, please review the following traffic guidelines to ensure student safety. Please also be sure to inform care givers that will be transporting children to and from school of the guidelines.

- Hollywood Avenue is not officially designated as a one-way street. However, your cooperation is requested in utilizing it as a one-way street during drop-off and pick-up times to assist with traffic flow and student safety. (One-way heading North on Hollywood.)

- Please be sure to keep traffic moving by letting children out quickly at the sidewalk in front of school. Please do not get out of your car to help your children unless it is in a designated parking area.

- 5th graders will no longer be stopping traffic to cross children at the crosswalk in front of Hollywood. A designated staff member will be on duty each day before and after school to assist students in crossing the street, as well as helping with traffic flow and student safety. Please adhere to the directions from the staff member on duty. 5th grade patrols will also providing additional guidance and assistance.

- No parking on Hollywood Avenue in the following locations: West side of street, East side of street from Washington to the school entrance. Parking is allowed on Hollywood Avenue past the fire hydrant.

- Cross children only at designated crosswalks.

These guidelines are put into place for our children’s safety. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
