Parents received a letter from Dr. Lamberson asking you to provide phone numbers for an automated calling system so you can be notified if a school closes due to an emergency (power outage, no heat, water leaks, etc.) The “SchoolReach” system will simultaneously call all phone numbers provided to the school and deliver a recorded message (either to a live person or to an answering machine). You can list up to three numbers to be called.
Caller ID will display Riverside School District 96’s main phone number: 708-447-5007 A “no answer” or “busy signal” at the initial call will trigger an automatic redial twice within 15 minutes There is a short pause from the time you answer until you hear the message; multiple “hellos” may delay the message. The system detects if an answering system picks up the call; a message will be left. The maximum number of rings before the system hangs up is five. You must provide a form FOR EACH STUDENT enrolled in District 96. Forms are due by Monday, November 12. The system should be operational by the first week in December.
This program is voluntary, but PLEASE return the form. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Dr. Lamberson or Ms. DeVylder.
In the event of a district-wide closing, the District will continue to report the closing at the Emergency Closing Center website: www.emergencyclosing.com and its media outlets (WGN Radio 720 AM, Ch 2, Ch 5, Ch 7, WGN 9, WBBM Radio 780, CLTV, Fox News).
