Committee Sign Up List

Committee Sign Up List Word Icon PDF Icon

We are making our plans for this year at Hollywood School! As you can see on our extensive listing, we have a lot of activities and fundraisers planned and we need your help. Hollywood is more than just a school, it is a community. Our PTA does a lot of fund raising so that we can provide all the children at Hollywood with the same opportunities.

The PTA needs your support in whatever way you can give it. We realize that not everyone is able to make monetary donations and time is at a premium for everyone but we ask that you get involved in whatever way possible. Can’t make regular committee meetings, maybe you can help on the day of an event. Simply include a note when you sign up for a committee and the chairperson will make sure to work with you. Another possibility is letting people know about a special talent you may have; are you a carpenter, great painter, good with a sewing machine, bargain hunter, negotiator, good with a computer or a wordsmith? The PTA has a need for whatever it is you can do.

Please review the listings and volunteer to be a chairperson or on a committee. We promise you won’t be sorry you did! If none of the committee/volunteer requests fit your specialty, please contact Lisa Buffo (387.1248 / mlbuffo@netzero.net) or any one of the PTA Board Members and let them know about your special talent so they can pass on your name to committees that may need your assistance. Please return your list to school and you will be contacted with more info.

did you know…

There are about 1.6 billion homes in the world. It’s where you use the most energy and water. The biggest impact on the planet is water. By 2025, the world must increase its water supply by 22% in order to meet its needs. Meanwhile 40% of the drinking water supplied to homes is flushed down the toilet. Be conservative in your water use!

tips….

  • Shorten your shower by a minute or two and you’ll save up to 150 gallons per month.
  • Put food coloring in your toilet tank. If it seeps into the toilet bowl without flushing, you

  • have a leak. Fixing it can save up to 1,000 gallons a month.

  • For cold drinks keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator instead of running the tap. This

  • way, every drop goes down you and not the drain.

  • Run your clothes washer and dishwasher only when they’re full. You can save up to 1,000 gallons a month.

  • Don’t use running water to thaw food. Defrost food in the refrigerator for water efficiency and food safety.
