Market DayThis is the last Market Day of the year! Load up for the summer!  If ordering by a paper form, please submit to the school office no later than Wednesday, June 5th. If you plan on ordering online at If you plan on ordering online at marketday.com, you have until Thursday, June 6th. The Hollywood school code is 1229.

Market Day pick-up is Monday, June 10th from 4:30 – 5:30pm.

Grow a Pumpkin Contest and Grow a Sunflower Contest

 

Plant a seed.

Grow something pumpkin.

Enter your Hollywood grown pumpkin and/or sunflowers in the contest in late October!

 

Seeds are available in the office and this is time to plant!!!

Seed are also available at Jen and Tim’s (209 West Burlington) in a plastic box on the front porch.

Ecology Club Zoo News

Ecology Club’s last meeting of the year was a trip to the zoo, led by Hollywood parent Dr. Jason Watters, who is the Director of Animal Behavior Research at Brookfield Zoo. Dr. Watters took the kids on a walk through the zoo and talked about the okapi, the loose-in-the-zoo golden lion tamarins and how some released years ago are now faring well in their native habitat, and the marsh, among other things. He also took the club inside his laboratory, revealing what he’s currently working on and how a robotic tool has helped to improve the lives of captive birds and lemurs. It was a fantastic time.
This is the end of a great year for Ecology Club. We have learned and experienced a lot and extend thanks to the school personnel for their support. Ecology Club will likely continue next year; it is free and open to third through fifth graders and meets once a month.
